Make something of your saves

Save links from Android’s share menu into one collection

Share a reel or website to SocialBoard from Android’s share menu, choose a collection and save it. If SocialBoard is not offered by the source app, copy the link and paste it into Link or note in SocialBoard. Start with one collection and three useful finds.

Different places. One collection.
The short version

Your first cross-app collection

  1. Create one collection named for a plan, such as Saturday plans.
  2. Use Share → SocialBoard, or copy the URL and paste it into + → Link or note.
  3. Choose the collection, save, and open the item once to check the source.
  4. Add two related finds from other sources before sharing the collection.

Save the link while you are looking at it

Open the reel, video or website you want to keep and use its Share action. Choose SocialBoard when it appears in Android’s destination list. Select the collection for this find and complete the save.

The source app controls its sharing options, so the menu can differ between apps and devices. If SocialBoard is not offered, use the source’s copy-link option instead of taking a screenshot of a URL.

Use the paste-link fallback

Open SocialBoard, tap + and choose Link or note. Paste the copied URL, choose the collection and post it. Check that you copied the individual post or page you intended, rather than a creator’s profile or a temporary search result.

Open the saved item once to confirm that it returns to the intended source. A private post can still require access to its original platform; saving its link does not change those permissions.

Pros and cons

The value is a small repeatable habit: choose the right collection at the moment you find something useful.

Pros

  • Free and ad-free, with multiple collections for different plans or interests.
  • Social links and websites can sit beside your own photos and videos, with search and sharing.

Cons

  • Source apps vary in the links and share options they expose.
  • This saves individual finds; it does not import your existing social saved folders.

Make the first collection useful in three saves

Create Saturday plans. Save a café reel, its official website and a photo of the neighborhood. Return to the collection later and open the café link without scrolling through the source app’s saved grid.

Invite a friend only when there is something useful to see. The shared collection becomes the reference list; your chat can stay focused on choosing a time. If they cannot open a source post, add an accessible official website link beside it.

A few useful details

Does saving a link download the original video?

This link-saving workflow does not promise a downloaded or permanent copy of the source video. Access still depends on the original service.
